World Finn Masters 2023

Andy Denison, President of the World Finn Masters opened the event last week in Iraklitsa, Greece welcoming 145 sailors from just over 30 countries. The quality of the fleet is outstanding with numerous Olympians and ex world and European champions having competed in the Finn or other dinghy classes. 

Andy has held the position of president for a number of years and does a great job in ensuring the event on and off the water is a success. 

CSC Finns sailors Russell New, Richard Phillips, Peter Blick, Simon Philbrick, Simon Percival as well as Andy represented the club at this event  

It was a challenging week with light winds and numerous races abandoned as a result

The racing when it did take place was tough, getting clean air off the start line with 140 boats was certainly the key and keeping out of trouble around the marks again was equally as important

Andy closed the championship on the Friday evening and invited all sailors to next years event in Punts Ala, Italy
