Security
CSC is a member and supporter of Christchurch Harbour Watch and Poole Harbour Watch
The Security Patrol continues to be relevant to the protection of the Club and Club Members property. Having said that, the onus is always on the owner, and they should take every precaution, such as the locking or chaining up of goods whenever possible, and/or marking them with DNA traceable identifiers and warning stickers.
In addition, it is most important to remember your own personal safety is paramount and should never be placed at risk whilst undertaking Security Patrol duties both on and off the water.
We have been successful for more than 20 years and it is important that we continue. The ongoing rise in marine crime and the increasing pressures on our borders to smuggle goods, people, drugs or weapons means that we must always be alert to the possible use of our local waters for these threatening activities.
If you see anything suspicious about where, when or how an individual or vessel and crew are currently behaving the Police and Coastguard recommend (March 2021) that you phone 999 and ask for the Coastguard. Give them full details of the incident and they will co-ordinate a response.
If you see a potential matter that is not urgent phone the Police on 101.
