A new chapter in the 148 year history of our Club...

Thank you everyone who attended the SGM on Saturday 29th, with a large number of members in the Club house, and many logged in remotely via ZOOM provided great member representation!

The amendments were heard, voted on, and then the Motion to Incorporate was voted on decisively to accept the proposal to change our club from unincorporated status to an incorporated Community Interest Company limited by guarantee status (CIC).

The effort and interest taken by our members has been excellent, the amendments were well presented, the responses equally so. This really reflects the professionalism and skills that we have as a Club within our membership for which we're undoubtedly richer.

This was a 'team bubble' not a 'personal bubble'. Though there are individuals within the team to whom the club owes a massive debt of gratitude, Martin Dancey in particular.

The time and effort that has been put in over the last 18 months on the research, compiling the required details, rewriting the club rules and bye-laws and structure. Producing the articles, rules and by-laws and structure required by this project. Steadfastly sharing the information with our membership, listening to members observations and concerns, applying these, if appropriate to the preparatory documentation then sharing it all again, has been a long but rewarding process.

The next few months will see the Club focus on the transition and transformation activities highlighted in the Due Diligence report complied as part of the preparation work. This work will ensure that all of the Commercial, Legal and Club Policies and Processes are amended to reflect the Club's new entity. There is no intention or need to change the current ethos of the club, it's democracy or to reduce the wonderful volunteer status benefit that the club values highly. With this in mind, members with experience and expertise would be welcome to support the Club with this work.

Once again, thank you all for your support

"Many thanks, we are very happy that CSC will incorporate, members should feel much more secure in volunteering. Over the next few years the bylaws and rules can be evolved to the benefit of all."
