Disabled Access Ceremony Success! What a triumph the opening ceremony was last Saturday! With over 100 members and guests attending the opening ceremony in front of the Clubhouse and the reception afterwards, the afternoon was most enjoyable, after 2 years of hard work. The opening was performed by Geoff Holt MBE DL and afterwards speeches were given by Geoff, together with the Mayor of Christchurch, Cllr Lesley Dedman, who spoke of many facts about CSC that many members were not already aware of! Finally, we received a personal video message, televised to members, from Honorary Member, Sir Ben Ainslie CBE, congratulating the Club on the achievement. My thanks go to all those involved in the project from the members who sat on the working party, the contractors, Tony Harvey and the bar staff for their assistance and to all the ladies who created the excellent buffet, but special thanks are offered to Rear Commodore, Keith Barkway for leading the project throughout. We have received so many complimentary comments about the improved facilities and the attractive design of the Entrance Foyer, it is yet another major improvement to our Club for the benefit of members.
