On the Water 26/6/19 Juniors.........Will Sears, Amelia Dendle & Harry Dendle were representing CSC amongst 24 entries in the Mudeford Tera Open on Saturday. The weather was awesome, the wind was 7-10 knots for most of the day, strengthening to 10-13 towards the end of the day. Will managed to complete 2 races in his first event since returning from his illness, which was a great achievement. Amelia & Harry did all 4 races and it was Harry's very first Open. Results are still pending, with Team Dendle finishing mid-fleet in all 4 races - a great achievement -especially as there was a single fleet of Tera Pro, Sport and Regatta fleets, so they were up against some really good sailors! Everyone really enjoyed it and the next event is the Inland Champs at Rutland on 13th July. Class 4 Captain reports that there was a modest turnout over the weekend with race wins to Peter Blick on Saturday and to Ray New and Jack Arnell in the sea interclub on the Sunday, well done all!!" | | |
| Ladies Sailing: Thank you to Ladies sailing and class 5 for giving the slipway a good clean last week. Hoping that ladies will have had a successful sail on Tuesday evening after the last evening had to be cancelled due to the weather. Scows.......A busy week for the scows this week, with a good fleet enjoying Capers last Wednesday and seven boats out in a good stiff breeze on Saturday. Sunday evening was the annual race against the Fishermen's Association: Ten boats were out, allocated by drawing lots to decide who sailed which boat. A good race in a dying breeze, CSC eventually beat the Fishermen by 28 points to 27. We had a baked potato supper afterwards with 40 participants enjoying a splendid evening. Many thanks to all who helped make a success of the event ! Last weekend's Cruiser Rally 18 Cruisers enjoyed a great weekend at Island Harbour Marina on the Isle of Wight, where we were welcomed by CSC members and residents there, Paul & Sue Masser. We had an most sociable BBQ and gathering on Saturday evening an a pleasant even if little wind, sail back on Sunday. Thanks are extended to Paul & Sue, for organising and hosting..... | |
