On The Water

Saturday saw another very breezy morning gusting 28mph at times, for the Ladies Cup (mixed fleet open to all as originally presented by the ladies) and the Over 60's Cup. More than half the fleet eligible for the latter. The course was cleverly set to ensure all sailors could be seen at all times by the committee boat and escort team for safety- huge thank you to all that stepped up and offered to help at the last minute- very much appreciated.

Overall and Ladies Cup winner was Andy Rushworth on his OK, Over 60's Cup went to Ray New on his Finn in 2nd place and First Lady, Claire van Wingerden on a Laser 4.7 coming in 3rd place. A challenging race for many so well done to those who took it on after a nervous start and decision!

Jack Acton is now in Poland for the Laser Standard u21European Championships so we wish him well.

Junior week has got off to a breezy start and we wish them a happy week on the water here in Christchurch.
