CHRISTCHURCH SAILING CLUB DOUBLE STACKER TRAILER USE BY CSC MEMBERS

The double stacker trailer is provided and maintained by the CSC Junior Squad, for use by CSC members wishing to take boats to off-site events. The primary goal is to reduce costs for multiple families going to the same event, and to share the task of transporting the boats. The purpose of this policy statement is to ensure the safe and widely shared use of the trailer.

The following conditions apply:

Only an adult member of the Christchurch Sailing Club can book and tow the trailer, and accept responsibility for its safe use, security off site and return in serviceable condition.

Trailer bookings are to be made through the club website or club office.

Fair usage of the trailer will be enforced. To help ensure wide availability, the trailer is booked on a first come first served basis, but bookings can only be made one calendar month before the date of the event, and the following considerations will apply:

If a clash of dates occurs, priority will be given where 2 boats are going to the same event.

If an applicant has been disadvantaged in the past, preference will be accorded as long as no less than 7 days' notice can be given to the competing applicant, to be able to find alternative arrangements.

Acceptance of the conditions of use:

OFF-SITE USE OF CSC TRAILERS

There may be occasions when CSC members are required to tow club trailers in support of members taking part in external sailing events. This instruction sets out the procedures to be followed to comply with club insurance requirements.

CSC trailers are covered by our insurer for such use, in support of our own members attending the event, given the following provisos:

1.The towing drivers must carry personal insurance for their cars to be used for towing, and must provide a copy of evidence of such cover to CSC in advance of the day, prior to the countersigning of the form.

2.The trailers and associated equipment must be adequately secured when left unattended.

3.The trailers may only be used by authorised CSC members, in accordance with the relevant CSC instructions
