Dinghy Racing News........Well this weekend winds up the Winter Series for the dinghy fleets! And it is fair to say- all still to play for!! Racing is very tight with only one discard to call on and many people are in contention for the trophies still. Saturday is a 9.30 start and Sunday a 10.00 start so please be prompt launching to reach the harbour. Sunday we still need two volunteers- an Assistant Escort Skipper for the harbour racers and and Assistant ARO for the Scow fleet in the river series. If you haven't completed your fair share of duties; here's your chance! While we are on volunteering......so many of you have gone above and beyond - too many to mention but we must give a special mention to the following; Ray Thornton, Julian Browett, David Groom, Dan Sears and Simon Sullivan who have all completed 10 duties each over the last 12 months. |

As we approach Christmas I would like to remind you about the Harry Shivers Race on Boxing Day- 1pm start time and the Trophy will be awarded in the bar afterwards. Into the New Year we have the Icebreaker Series starting on Jan 8th. Lots and lots of duties to fill here- if you have winter storage please remember to volunteer- if you are newer to duties and unsure what to do its a great time to learn in a fairly empty harbour- let us know and we will pair you up with someone more experienced. Warm clothes and coffee and it can be lovely on the water taking part!! Thank you to all who have supported us during our time in Office, and we wish you a very Happy Christmas, and a Happy and Peaceful New Year to all, from the Sailing Sec Team. |
